Arnold Clavio issues statement over racist remarks against Azkals!

GMA-7 broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio releases official statement after he’s been called a racist by football fans for expressing his opinions regarding sexual harassment complaint by Cristina Ramos, match commissioner and daughter of former president Fidel V. Ramos against two members of the football team Philippine Azkals.

“Nakakalungkot na may negatibong reaksyon ang naging pahayag ko tungkol sa Philippine Azkals kaugnay ng sexual harassment complaint ni Ms. Cristy Ramos. Wala po akong ganoong intensyon,” he said.

“Ang isyu po rito ay sexual harassment at kung may nagamit man po akong mga salita na hindi angkop, nagpapakumbaba po ako at humihingi ng pang-unawa,” he added.

“Dun naman po sa mga kasama kong nanindigan laban sa sexual harassment, maraming salamat po. Seryoso pong isyu ito na dapat bantayan,” Arnold Clavio said.

On Tuesday morning, March 13, the Unang Hirit‘s hosts were discussing about the harassment cased filed by Cristina Ramos against some members of Azkals that made Arnold Clavio gave his opinion.

“Dapat maging aral na sa inyo ‘yan. Ang yayabang niyo. Porket dinadagsa kayo ng mga [fans] ang guguwapo niyo, ‘di ba?. Parang God’s gift to women. Ang kuwento nga ni [Cristy] at mga kasama niya, lahat ginawang paraan para ipaalam na may babaeng papasok sa locker. Ilang katok nga sila, eh malapit na ang match at kailangang ma-check na ang dalawang koponan, dahil nauna ang Philippine team bago ang Malaysian team. Ngayon nag-sorry para daw sa isa nilang kasamahan. Saan ka nakakitang Azkal na may suso. Anong ‘Cup D, maybe a Cup B’ sa isang kasama? Palusot na lang ‘yon. Sana kung nag-sorry, sorry na lang talaga,” Clavio said.

Clavio added that Azkals are not really Filipinos and just pretending to be the citizens of the country.

“Hindi ko kayo ka kultura kasi wala dito (sa puso), wala dito (sa pag-iisip) eh hindi naman kayo Filipino, nagpapanggap lang kayong kayumanggi, hindi dito lumaki. Mahirap ‘yon, insensitive. Pero malaking aral din. Congratulations kasi hiwalay naman ito sa kanilang ginagawang pakikipaglaban. So, good luck sa inyong susunod na laban para makarating kayo sa Final 4 na bihirang narating ng Pilipinas sa matagal na panahon, ngayon lang.”

Fans of the football team trended his name on micro-blogging site Twitter, bashing the anchors’ name, and worst some calls for termination of the news anchor from GMA-7.

1. Drum on to fix holes on the road
2. People are selling Cialis (for erectile dysfunction) even to younger people
3. Sanitation is not observed
4. MILF means terrorist here. There are lots of terrorist in the Philippines.
5. Construction site is not safe. Everything in the Philippines is under construction
6. They have an obsession to be whiter (skin complexion).
7. Lots of traffic
8. Pharmacy, grocery or store always sell things and place it on plastic with receipts stapled on it even if you are just buying a small gum. This adds more trash. Waste of time and resources
9. Here in the Philippines no body follows traffic laws.
10. In the Philippines, toilet or bathroom are called 'comfort room'. The problem is it is not comfortable in there.
11. No toilet paper. No toilet seat.
12. Lots of security guard everywhere with no proper training
13. Pissing anywhere is their past time
14. Body-searching done by guards everywhere
15. Everyone is using horns to beep at no reason at all
16. There is a job for 'tissue cutter'
17. Beggars everywhere you go
18. You can't escape the cock, everyone has a chicken even in the city
19. Low-end base blasting all over. Music are too loud even at night
20. Lady-boys, prostitute and cockroaches everywhere
21. People expect you to give for tips
22. All hot girls in the Philippines is a lady-boy
23. Tons of fucking Koreans here who can't understand English
24. Motorcycles here are not motorcycles, they are glorified scooters

I suggest Filipinos take these comments and criticisms lightly and use them to further improve ourselves and our country. Come on, you all know most of these are true, if not all.
